I was sad when you told me that you would go abroad. I'm going to lose a bosom friend①.
When people say that I speak English fluently, I know, I owe the praise to you.
Do you remember that English class, when we were learning the text The Necklace? The teacher asked me to act Mathilde and you to act Jeanne. I was so nervous that my voice trembled, but you spoke so naturally and nicely. How I admired you! After class, you said to me:“Don't be afraid, and don't be shy. If you like English you must open your mouth.”I was deeply touched by these words.
Since then we spoke English whenever we met each other trying our best to express ourselves in English.
I'll never forget the Sunday when we saw the American film Turning Point. Though the actors and the actresses spoke very fast and I coudn't catch every word of the story, I got the main idea. Then we talked about the film for almost the whole day. It was, moreover, my turning point. From then on, I began to watch English on Sunday, to listen to Radio Beijing and began to pay more attention to English programs. We are both fond of American pop songs②.
